Jessie graduated from Triple Crown Academy, in Hutto, Tx in 2004 as a Certified Canine Training and Behavior Specialist. She has been training dogs professionally ever since. In 2009 she earned the coveted distinction of being voted the "Best Trainer in Montgomery County" in the Times Herald Readers Choice Awards! We are thrilled that she is part of our team!

Jessie believes a well trained dog is a happy dog and that every dog should be treated with kindness and respect. This does not mean, however, that these special animals should be allowed to run our households. Jessie has five dogs at home, two border collies, a Doberman, an American Eskimo and a Pitbull (George, Majic, Ava, Starlett, Bubbles) and three cats. In her free time (!) she enjoys volunteering at an animal shelter in Philadelphia where she consults as a trainer in order to be able to more successfully place animals in forever homes.

Our Training Philosophy

Training dogs is based on the communication between each dog and their owner.  This is accomplished through lure and reward, bridging signals and utilizing canine communication techniques.  Opening up communication with your dog and letting them know when they are doing something right or wrong accelerates training with less stress while maintaining your dog’s motivation with positive results.

Our method of training is flexible, meaning that we create and tailor each training program so that it fits the best interest of you and your dog.  Marissa uses all humane techniques utilizing all training collars such as head halti, gentle leader, harness, flat collars, slip leads, prong collars, etc.  She will work with you to determine which method would be most effective for your particular dog.

We also specialize in behavior modification training, particularly dogs with aggression.  A free evaluation of any dog is for available for clients considering training.  Evaluations can be scheduled Monday to Thursday from 9 to 3, Saturday and Sunday by appointment only.

Our sweet pups, Snuggles and Zoey, just love Jessie! They are so happy to see her and they enjoy their training sessions with her. We first contacted Jessie to help us work with Snuggles who is fearful of other dogs. Then about 6 months ago, we adopted Zoey, an adult dog who was rescued from a shelter. Jessie has helped us immensely with not only basic training techniques but with also being able to read each dog’s body language so that we have a better understanding of how they are feeling.
